How can I book?

Very easily; simply complete the online enquiry form and tell us which car, when and for how long.  The cars are in demand (especially between May and September) so to avoid disappointment we’d recommend booking as early as possible. Subject to meeting eligibility criteria and agreeing to our terms and conditions we can process your booking and payment via secure link.

When does your hire season start?

Our hire season starts March and ends in October – this is generally when the nicer weather greats us.

Do you offer delivery or collection?

We offer a full delivery and collection service to clients within a 10 mile radius of our unit in Leeds. This is an additional service to the hire rate and the charge depends upon the distance from us to you. For further information and a quote, please contact us at

Can you help with accommodation or places to visit?

We certainly can! We are spoilt by the number of stately homes, national parks, picturesque towns and villages and great places to visit and eat all within comfortable driving distance. We provide clients with several laminated recommended routes to give them great driving roads and places of interest that will ensure the agreed mileage isn’t exceeded.

Can I buy gift vouchers?

Gift vouchers for any of our cars, to surprise that special person, are available to purchase over the phone. They are valid for 12 months from the date of purchase. For further information, please feel free to drop us an email or complete our enquiry form.

What does your insurance cover?

Fully comprehensive insurance is included in the hire for the main named driver. We appreciate that you may want to share the cost and experience with a loved one or friend, so additional drives are permitted subject to an additional charge. Please note, all drivers must meet our insurer’s eligibility criteria which will be sent, once we have received an enquiry.

What happens if I break down?

We do everything we possible can to make sure this won’t happen. Whilst our cars are pampered, they are old and things can occasionally go wrong. In the rare event of a breakdown, all cars benefit from full RAC cover to assist and to get you back on the road. Our cars are maintained to a high standard and serviced regularly and whilst not legally required, we MOT them.

Can I take the cars abroad?

Sadly not; our cars are only insured to be driven in the UK.

Are pets allowed?

Regrettably, no pets or animals are allowed in the cars. All cars are valeted in preparation for hire but we are mindful that some people do have allergies so it’s a strict “no pets” policy.

Can I smoke/Vape?

We have a strict no smoking/vaping rule.

Can I leave my car with you?

Absolutely! Your car can be left with us for the period of your booking – free of charge. Whilst your car will be stored in our locked premises, it will be entirely at your risk.


All car hires are subject to 150 miles per 24 hour booking period, rather than “per day”. Our classic car hires are solely intend for leisure purposes and we want all clients to enjoy their experience. In order to achieve that, but to balance the impact of wear and tear on the cars (some are 60 years old), a sensible mileage limit needs to be observed. All our cars are subject to an excess mileage charge and the rates are clearly stated when you book with us.


Due to the age of some of our cars they can only be filled with Super Unleaded (E5) and NOT normal unleaded (E10). There are reminders in our car guide and inside stickers on the fuel cap. At the start of the hire, the car will have a full tank of fuel with the condition that the car is returned with the same amount. If the car is returned with less than at the beginning of the hire, we have the right to charge for replacing the fuel by debiting the cost from the security deposit.

Is there a minimum age requirement to rent a classic car?

To rent a classic car from Bygone Classics, you must be at least 25 years old. We believe this ensures a safe and responsible driving experience.

Can I modify the classic car during the rental period?

Once the booking is made, the booking period can be changed, you just need to contact us here and see the availability.

What if I have to cancel my reservation?

Life happens, and we understand that plans may change. If you need to cancel your reservation, please let us know at least 14 days in advance to receive a full refund. Cancellations within 14 days may incur a fee. Please see our Terms & Conditions for more details.
